Bush Moves Toward Martial Law

In a stealth maneuver, President Bush has signed into law a provision which, according to Senator Patrick Leahy, will actually encourage the President to declare federal martial law. The law also facilitates militarized police round-ups and detention of protesters, so called “illegal aliens,” “potential terrorists” and other “undesirables”.

MSNBC’s Olbermann calls Bush out as a lying coward on National TV!

Olbermann makes an amazing retort to the Clinton interview on Fox. I’ve never seen a member of the media make such a politicized speach… and it was dead on! I hope this is a turning point for this God awful administration.

Divine Intervention, Part II

Ok, I thought after the whole Sewer Snakeā„¢ thing that God had bailed me out, but it happened again tonight.

After my volleyball game this evening, I needed to stop by the store and pickup some milk and a few things. I decided to also stop by my post office box (for my business) to see if there was anything there. Having a box at this particular ‘pack-n-mail’ shop meant that I had a key to the place that I could use to get my mail whenever I wanted.

I got out of the truck, let myself into the shop, opened my mailbox and grabbed a short stack of mail. I thumbed through it, realizing that it was pretty much all junk mail. I tossed the stack into the recycling bin by the front door, and walked out.

I walked back to my truck and reached for my keys.

Gone.

I had left them in the mailbox door, locked myself out of the shop, and I had no way to get back in until morning. Not to mention the fact that I couldn’t drive home (I left my entire keyring in the shop).

I sat in my truck and called my wife to come get me, feeling like a complete idiot. She was gracious as always, assuring me that she’d load up the kids and be there momentarily to rescue me. Even so, I’d still have to show up the next day when the shop opened to retrieve my keys, and I wasn’t even sure if my wife had a spare key to my truck! Great.

I wasn’t sitting there 2 minutes, when a black truck pulls up and parks two spaces over from me, next to another car that was parked there when I pulled up. The light comes on inside the truck, and to my amazement I recognize the man driving the truck - it’s Ron, the owner of the pack-n-mail shop.

Long story short - Ron lets me in, I get my keys and go on to the grocery store.

There was a woman in the truck with Ron, and he seemed to be dropping her off at her car which she had parked there at the shop. I asked Ron if they had been out to dinner or something.

Ron said, “No, we just got through with bible study at our church.”

“Amazing,” I said.

“I guess He told me to come over here and help you, huh?”, Ron said laughing.

Yes, I believe so.
